Editor's Take:
Dima Bilan is one of Russia's biggest pop stars. He was born Viktor Belan in the North Caucasus and studied at Moscow's Gnessin music school. He took the stage name Dima, after his grandfather, early in his career. His polished pop songs and stage shows quickly made him a fixture on Russian radio and television. He first represented Russia at Eurovision in 2006, finishing second with Never Let You Go. Two years later he won the contest in Belgrade with Believe, Russia's first Eurovision victory. He was joined on stage by figure skater Evgeni Plushenko and violinist Edvin Marton. He has since won many Russian music awards and served as a coach on The Voice of Russia.
