Who we are
Who Shares My Birthday (whosharesmybirthday.co.uk) is the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, use our contact form.
What we collect and why
- Birthday searches. The date you enter is used only to show your results. We don't link it to you.
- Email sign-ups. If you sign up, we keep your email address and the birthday you chose so we can send you a birthday email. Lawful basis: your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Poster and print orders. We keep your name, email, delivery address and order details to make and deliver your order. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you. Payments are taken by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
- Photos you upload. These are stored securely and used only to create your poster.
- Analytics. With your consent only, Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, device type and approximate location, to help us improve the site.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that run the site for us:
- Stripe: payments
- Prodigi: printing and delivering physical prints (your name and delivery address)
- Resend: sending emails
- Google: analytics, and advertising through Google AdSense, according to your cookie choices
- Our hosting and file-storage providers
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
- Order records: 6 years, to meet UK tax and accounting rules
- Email sign-ups: until you unsubscribe
- Uploaded photos: until your order is complete and any reprint period has passed. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
- Analytics data: in line with Google Analytics retention settings
