Editor's Take:
Robert Lewandowski turned goalscoring into a science. He was once rejected by a Polish club for being too slight. He answered with relentless training and a near-obsessive focus on diet and recovery. At Bayern Munich he scored at a rate few strikers have matched. His record of 41 league goals in one season stood above even Gerd Müller. He has carried the hopes of Poland for more than a decade. Even in his late thirties he kept scoring for Barcelona.
