Editor's Take:
Lee Hi stood out on a talent show for her deep, soulful voice. She was still a teenager when her first single topped the charts. Her style draws on jazz, soul and R&B rather than typical idol pop. Her ballad Breathe became one of her most loved songs. She later moved to a hip-hop label for more creative freedom. There she released some of her most personal music. She has co-founded her own record label.
