Editor's Take:
Katy Perry is one of the best-selling pop stars of the century. She grew up singing gospel music in church. Her first album, released under her birth name, sold poorly. In 2008 I Kissed a Girl made her famous. Her album Teenage Dream produced five US No. 1 singles. Her shows are colourful and theatrical, full of candy and costume. In 2025 she flew to the edge of space on a Blue Origin rocket.
