Editor's Take:
Helen Mirren has spent six decades proving that great roles do not stop at forty. She began in classical theatre with the Royal Shakespeare Company. She found television fame as a tough detective fighting sexism in the police. Then came both Queen Elizabeths and an Oscar. She has always mixed serious drama with action films and comedy. Her frankness and humour in interviews have made her a much-loved public figure.
