Editor's Take:

Gareth Bale's career is full of moments that seem too dramatic to be real, from his overhead kick in a Champions League final to leading Wales back to the World Cup. Few footballers combine his raw pace, power and ability to win games almost on their own. He became the most expensive player in the world when he moved from Tottenham to Real Madrid in 2013. In Madrid, he won the Champions League five times, scoring in two finals. People born on 16 July share their birthday with Wales's greatest ever footballer.
