Editor's Take:
Anastacia is an American singer with a huge voice and an even bigger following in Europe. She grew up between Chicago and New York, the daughter of performers. As a teenager she had surgery for Crohn's disease. Her break came on the MTV talent show The Cut in 1998. Her debut single, I'm Outta Love, was a hit across Europe and Australia. Left Outside Alone followed in 2004. She survived breast cancer twice and campaigned for awareness. Her style blended pop, soul and rock, which she called "sprock".
