Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is one of India's most famous film stars. She studied architecture before modelling. In 1994 she won the Miss World title. She made her film debut in Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Iruvar. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas made her a Bollywood superstar. Devdas was screened at Cannes, where she later became a regular on the red carpet. She married actor Abhishek Bachchan in 2007. She has appeared in films in Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and English.
