Canadian-born entertainer who built a second career in Indian cinema
Born Karenjit Kaur Vohra in Sarnia, Ontario, she grew up in Canada and later in California. She took the name Sunny Leone when she began modelling, and became one of the best-known names in the American adult film industry in the 2000s.
Her move to India came through television. An appearance on the reality show Bigg Boss in 2011 led to an offer from director Pooja Bhatt, and she made her Bollywood debut in Jism 2 in 2012. Songs like Baby Doll and Laila Main Laila became huge hits.
