Editor's Take:
Mustafa I spent most of his life shut away in the palace. His brother Ahmed I chose not to have him killed. When Ahmed died, Mustafa was placed on the throne. Courtiers soon decided he was unfit to rule. He was replaced by his young nephew Osman II. Janissaries later murdered Osman and brought Mustafa back. His second reign also collapsed amid chaos and he lived on in confinement.
