Editor's Take:
Manuel Neuer changed what a goalkeeper is expected to do. He rushes far from his goal to sweep up danger. He passes like an outfield player and starts attacks with long, accurate throws. Coaches around the world began looking for keepers who could copy him. At his best he was also a superb shot-stopper. His display against Algeria in 2014 showed his full style. He has won more than ten German league titles with Bayern.
