Charlize Theron is a fearless actor who disappears into her roles. She grew up on a farm near Johannesburg and trained as a ballet dancer until a knee injury ended that path. She moved to Los Angeles with little money and was spotted in a bank. Her transformation into the serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster won her the Oscar.
