Editor's Take:
Tyler, the Creator went from provocative teenage rapper to one of the most respected artists in music. Odd Future's early work was chaotic and often offensive, and drew bans in some countries. Over time his music grew warmer and more melodic, drawing on soul, jazz and funk. Flower Boy marked the turning point, and Igor brought commercial success. He produces his own records and shapes every visual detail. His fashion and festival ventures have made him a cultural tastemaker as well as a musician.
