Editor's Take:
Rosé brought a distinctive, slightly husky voice to Blackpink, the group that took K-pop to the top of Western charts. Raised in Australia, she moved to Seoul as a teenager and spent four years training before the group's debut. Blackpink went on to headline festivals such as Coachella. Her solo songs showed a softer, guitar-based side. APT., a playful duet with Bruno Mars built on a Korean drinking game, broke streaming records. It made her one of the most successful Korean artists in American pop history.
