Editor's Take:

Julia Volkova became famous as a teenager in t.A.T.u., one of the most successful Russian pop acts ever. The duo's image and songs caused controversy. All the Things She Said topped charts across Europe. At Eurovision 2003 they finished third. After the duo split she pursued solo projects. She and Lena Katina have reunited for occasional shows. Their early fame was built partly on a manufactured image that the duo later moved away from. Their music remains popular in Russia and beyond.
