Editor's Take:
Joe Exotic became one of the strangest celebrities of the pandemic era. Tiger King arrived just as much of the world went into lockdown, and his mullet, guns and big cats became instant memes. Behind the spectacle was a bitter feud with an animal-rights campaigner. A federal jury convicted him of trying to hire men to kill her. The case also exposed serious harm to animals at his park. His fame has outlasted the zoo itself, and he has kept running for office from prison.
