Editor's Take:
Frank Lampard made himself into one of the best midfielders of his generation. At West Ham he faced claims he was there only because of his family. He answered with hard work and a remarkable eye for goal. His late runs into the box produced goal totals usually reserved for strikers. At Chelsea he collected every major club trophy. As a manager he has had mixed fortunes, but he remains a Stamford Bridge legend.
